Kirsty has been involved in sport and fitness from a young age and is thrilled to now be opening CrossFit Orwell in her hometown. She is in her sixth year in the fitness industry where she has coached CrossFit, Weight Lifting and Personal Training. She has competed in both CrossFit competitions and more recently Weight Lifting, making her way to the national stage 3 times. Kirsty recently completed her CrossFit Kids Trainer course and is excited to be expanding her knowledge, getting children active and promoting a healthy lifestyle. With and enthusiasm for coaching all age groups she can’t wait to create a friendly, supportive community at CrossFit Orwell.

Darren started CrossFit in 2013 whilst studying Sport and Exercise Science at Essex University. In the years that followed he competed in both individual and team events whilst learning and developing his coaching skills in the main group CrossFit classes. In 2015 Darren began competing in weightlifting which was the start of his passion for Olympic Weightlifting. He has since established Essex Weightlifting club where he has coached lifters to national level and created a fantastic atmosphere for his members to train in. Darren is committed to providing a professional and motivating environment for all abilities to improve in and finds coaching groups and individuals extremely rewarding.


Level 3 Personal Trainer // Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist

Jodie has worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years, personal training for 10 of those and also runs her own sports massage business. Her love of CrossFit began 6 years ago whilst looking for a new challenge and she hasn’t looked back since. Jodie has competed in many team and individual competitions and with each one develops as an athlete. The constant variation of the workouts is what she enjoys but also the amazing community that it creates. She has made so many friends since starting CrossFit and feels completely at home when she’s in the gym. As a coach she is very motivating and passionate and wants each and every one of you to leave the session feeling you’ve achieved something and eager to learn more.
